In addition, all the engines, whether 4 or 6-cylinder, deploy cutting-edge technology and combine smooth running characteristics with ecological efficiency and the ultimate in agility and driving dynamics.

The optimised 4-cylinder powerplant with a displacement of 1.8 litres, direct petrol injection, two overhead camshafts, variable valve timing and turbocharger, offers outstanding torque and power, not to mention appropriately low fuel consumption and emissions.

You can choose between the following models: SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY and SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY:

The 3.5 litre V6 engine in the SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY is the top-of-the-range engine in the new SLK Roadster. This drive unit combines refinement and ecological efficiency with the highest degree of agility and dynamism. It achieves this with - among other things - direct fuel injection and 4-valve technology.

Efficient combustion: spray-guided combustion with high-pressure injection via piezo-injectors.

Conservation of resources: fuel consumption over 20 percent lower than that of preceding model and correspondingly lower CO2 emissions, with increased dynamism.

Intelligent efficiency technology: a further-developed combustion process contributes towards a reduction in fuel consumption, as well as the standard-fit ECO start/stop function, a completely new air and exhaust gas system, regulated auxiliary components, intelligent alternator management and consistent implementation of lightweight construction principles.
