PRE-SAFER includes systems which are able to anticipate hazards and take precautionary measures. They include reversible belt tensioners and automatic closure of the side windows and optional tilting/sliding sunroof. The air cushion in the newly developed active multicontour seats can also fill up with air within seconds to provide better hold to the driver and front passenger in the event of a collision. Furthermore, if the front passenger seat is equipped with a memory package, this seat is moved into the safest possible position if imminent danger is detected.

PRE-SAFER activates during such events as emergency braking, heavy oversteer or understeer or when the steering wheel is turned quickly at high vehicle speeds.
